Hole #7

The seventh hole epitomizes McCumber's philosophy of risk and reward. At only 495 yards, it's certainly classified as a short par 5, but what a 495 yards it is. A good drive puts you within a long iron or fairway wood of the green. However, water lurks just in front and just in back of the green. If you go for it, you better land softly.
Even a safe lay-up requires care. The fairway short of the water is hourglass shaped. At 100 yards from the green, the fairway narrows to only 15 yards with water on both sides. No matter your skill level, a good score requires careful planning.
